Dining Room Progression

It’s easy to forget the very beginning. Each room offering its own challenges and variety of items to go through. Every single thing, picked up, assessed and carried to its resulting place, either to be stored, donated or disposed of.

With the help of my mom and cousins, Emily & David, we embarked on cleaning out this room in May of 2017. Serving as the room off the kitchen, it was decided that we’d make it into a dining room one day.

Although not fully finished quite yet, this room has been dehoarded, cleaned with the help of Gavin’s grandma, Rita, furniture rearranged (including my husband & brother moving a thousand pound player piano across the room), ceiling painted, walls repaired & painted with my mom’s much appreciated help, recessed lighting installed by Gavin and his friend, Aaron, chandelier hung and dining room table given as a wedding present from my parents placed in the center.

Late-night electrical work with the help of our friends, Aaron & Megan.

Chandelier installed above the beautiful hand-milled poplar & walnut dining room table made by my dad and his friend, Dan.

Can’t thank my family & friends enough for all of their support and help with turning this room into a beautiful gathering place once again.
