Finding Stillness Amongst the Chaos
It’s been a month & six days since we’ve officially moved. The time that has passed from then to now has been a whirlwind of unpacking, cleaning, organizing & the unrelenting feeling of sore muscles & sleepy smiles. But, I can say without a doubt, that these have been some of the best of days.

The struggle of settling into a new place, I’m learning, takes time. And with that comes the small victories of acquiring all of the necessary items for a household to have. Waiting for weeks to receive trash service, for example, gave me the much appreciated & joyful glean in my eyes when I finally saw the truck rolling down the road to drop off our new can. No more waking up at 5:00 am to collect all the trash and put it out by the road while it’s pouring down rain! Why not do it the night before you ask? Raccoons is the simple answer.
It’s also getting the replacement parts in the mail to fix the stove we bought three weeks ago. After a month of crock pot meals, delivery pizza & leftovers, all while eyeing the stove longingly, the day is soon approaching when we’ll actually be able to cook on it for the first time & what a day that’ll be! It’s true what they say; you don’t appreciate something fully, until you go without it. Gavin & I have been learning that lesson all month long.

With that said, I am choosing to slow down for a moment. I am finding stillness this morning, for the first time on my mat since the move. Breathing in all the beauty this life has to offer & thankful for this time that I’ve been given.
