Thankful

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

-Philippians 4:6

Have you ever made your requests known to God? Maybe you’ve never thought to before or aren’t sure if there even is someone listening to your prayers.

Well, as I sit here on this diving board overlooking the pond, a place of my childhood, I realize that the Lord, my God whom I believe in, has blessed me with so many of my quiet prayers & requests from years passed. I don’t say that to make any assumption that He’s a genie in a bottle we can call upon for any thing we desire.

What I truly mean to say is that my life is nothing I had imagined but everything I always dreamed.

I’m thankful; pure & simple. I know none of this would be a reality without Him. And I think to myself, how did I get so blessed? To call this house a home and this man, my husband.

I want to take it all in, as much as I can, for in this moment, it’s the best it can be.

So I sit up taller, breathe a little deeper & remember to never forget Who gave it all to me.

Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
