Home Renovation

Snapshots of Spring

Warmer weather & longer days have propelled us forward and pushed us into exhaustion nearly every night. I’m learning more intimately this truth every day: The only obstacle in-between dreams & reality is a simple answer:

Work.

Not until you don’t feel like it anymore. Not until there’s something more enjoyable to do. Work until you feel like you’re going to fall over. And then get up in the morning,

and do it all again.

It sounds intense. How could we really live like that? You want something bad enough, that’s what it takes.

This is a reference for myself of our Spring 2020 projects completed:

  • New roofs on shed & garage overhang (Thank you Dad & Uncle Fritz!)
  • Power-washed back patio
  • Blueberries weeded, fertilized & mulched
  • Hops restrung, weeded, mulched
  • Container garden & flower pots planted ~70
  • Indoor plants brought out [42]
  • Front bed weeded, mulched
  • Front box woods & yew trimmed
  • Wires run to bedroom & living room for overhead lighting
  • Dad’s room completed (post coming soon once bed is set up!)
  • Lawnmowers fixed, new blades + spindles
  • Garage organized, floor mopped

We’re giving it all we’ve got. And we’re blessed to call this life our own.

Sink we found that will potentially be used in bathroom renovation. Very heavy!
Claw foot tub that will be re-finished for bathroom as well.
We found the original color of the walls of this room when Gavin was installing the electric. It’s almost an exact match to the color we chose for our bedroom (unknowingly!)
Gavin running electric lines in crawl space of attic for overhead lighting in living room.
Help from his friend, Adam.
